Title of the spreadsheet analysis

File Title is important. You should always give clear and accurate title to your spreadsheet analysis or template. This is the face of your presentation.

I always use three lines in a title:

Line 1. Company Name / Division Name (or Department Name)

Line 2. Title of the Analysis

Line 3. Time period that analysis covers.

I usually use one font for the first and third line and will bold the second line or even use a different color. This way your title will always stand out.

For example, a title of a company income statement for fiscal year 2006 would look like:

Company Name
Income Statement - Summary
For Twelve Months Ended December 31, 2006
(0,000)

It is always a good idea to include file path and a date right under title.


To do that type:

- for file path =cell(""filename"")

- for date =now()

I complete title will look like this:

Income Statement - Summary
For Twelve Months Ended December 31, 2006
(0,000)
